Re: exhaust manifold bolts

Usually if there is a leak where the manifold it bolted to the block, you'll see black deposits around where the leak is. Why do you think they are leaking?
If you need to replace bolts, get the bolts from a 6.1, they are a little longer than the ones on the 5.7

Re: exhaust manifold bolts

it sounds like a minor exhaust leak and its driving me nuts, ive brought it to the dealer and its just a waste of time, its really noticable when it kicks into fuel saver mode, its definately more than the hemi tick

Re: exhaust manifold bolts

look on the passenger side from under the hood.

On the left side, last bolt, there should be a nut that holds the heatshield. I could see that mine was broken because there was no nut to hold that shield. It was also black around that corner of the manifold. Pretty easy to see by yourself.
