Re: Exhaust manifold/header differences
I have received a PM from Nick. He told me that did the following check procedure:
** Here is key/EVIC procedure to follow BEFORE you take your vehicle in for an emissions check. I believe this procedure works on all late model Chrysler vehicles??
1. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position without cranking or starting the engine.
2. When the key is turned to the "ON" position your little MI Light (the little engine symbol on the dash) will illuminate. This is just a bulb test to insure it is working properly.
3. After about 15 seconds, one of two things will happen:
----The MIL will flash for a number of seconds and then go back to a constantly "ON" state until you either start the engine or shut the key off. The flashing light indicates that the Emissions Readiness Monitors are NOT READY and you would fail the emissions inspection.
----The MIL will NOT flash and will stay on continuously until the engine is either started or the key is shut off. This means that all of the Emissions Readiness Monitors are set to "ready" and the vehicle is ready for testing.
He told me that the lights did not blink and were solid. This is great news and I think a good indication that we will pass and OBDII emissions test!
