Help!

Need help guys. I bought radiator hoses, the stainless steel ones from jegs, a 180 tstat, gaskets and a billet water neck (from custombillet) with the tapped hole for cooler. Does my WK have a stock cooler that plugs into this hole or did I mess up? What do I have to get to make this work?

Re: Help!

No one knows? I need to do this job like tomorrow...Only thing I'm stuck on is the oil cooler line that is tapped into the side of the billet water neck I bought...I assumed the v8 had a cooler line to plug into it...

I checked wkjeeps.com under "2005 feateures, options and packages". It shows that there was an optional power steering cooler (all models) and an optional hydraulic cooler (oil?) for the 5.7L. If you don't have these just plug the hole with a fitting, dont forget to put some sort of teflon tape on the threads so it doesn't leak. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Re: Help!

Still cannot figure this out without taking everything apart. Wish someone would chime in. I just need to know if there is an aux hose connected to my stock waterneck for the oil cooler. I can just put a fitting and screw it into this new waterneck....

Re: Help!

Re: Help!

That's not even the question. I don't even know if there is a damn line going to the stock water neck...

Re: Help!

Only way to figure that out is to simply take a look at the line or plug your vin into one of those online decoder sites, that will list all your options etc etc

Little O/T but your header says you have an 05 4.0 WK? They didn't make a 4.0 for any wk as far as I know and your avatar pic shows a WJ so im guessing you had a WJ

Re: Help!

Well, I have an '05 limited 5.7 and there's nothing "tapped into" my water neck. It's real easy to see without the stock airbox- dont know what you have.
Since you got the neck with hole, get a plug for it.if you have the cooler - attach it, if not plug it......... piece of cake.

Re: Help!

I am not familiar with these parts at all but considering its an aftermarket water neck do you think maybe there is a bung for an aftermarket temperature sensor for an aftermarket gauge designed into it? sounds plausible to me... in which case you would just need to find a plug for it.

Re: Help!

It's a tap for a oil cooler. Says so on the site I got it from. I thought obviously the hemi has to have a oil cooler hookup that goes into the waterneck. But then after I bought it someone told me it doesn't. and that's for aftermarket coolers...

Here is the webpage.

I selected black and tapped for oil cooler..

http://www.custombilletstore.com/product_p/30022.htm

I am confused as to why the hemi doesn't have a cooler like this, thought it needed it with the tow pack i have...

Re: Help!

Will plugging this hole on the water neck with a pressure release valve or something solve my problem? I want to put at least something in there haha
