HEMI Headers - Are they worth it?

I was looking to get some ARH headers for my 5.7 05 GC. For anyone that has them did they increase the power noticeably?
I have the gibson catback and most people say it increased power but I'm 99% sure it just made it louder.

Any feedback would be great, thank you.

Re: HEMI Headers - Are they worth it?

Do you have any other mods that would need the longtubes?

They are a PIA to install if you do it yourself and if you pay a shop they are going to charge you a pretty penny for the install!

If you have other mods (turbo supercharger 392/426) that would benefit from the LT's then go for it. If not I'd save the cash.

Re: HEMI Headers - Are they worth it?

Arh is going to install them and im going to trade a car plus cash for them so it's not full price. I had just long tubes on my ls1 camaro and it really woke the car up

Re: HEMI Headers - Are they worth it?

With a complete (headers and catback) low restriction system, you should gain ~30 or so hp. Like Escape says, other mods on top of this will yield more gains than they would without the good exhaust system. IMO, it's something to build on if you plan on keeping it. The custom headers on mine were one of the last mods. I had planned though. Only other thing I've done is add a better cam (CMR tune is next), and then I'll probably pretty much quit, unless something breaks, or I can justify major engine work. If you're not laying out a lot of $$$, I'd say go for it.

Let me know how it goes. I've been thinking about some for my Jeep as well.

Ditto. I've also considered SRT8 exhaust manifolds as a cheaper/easier upgrade

I think they just require a little trimming of the trans housing

555ctsv has a lot of info in his headers project thread: http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=11111
