Re: Is the Jetchip a complete waste?

User Hypertech was asked to speak with our admins about vender status. I am not telling anyone anyting they do not already know, but we have people working out of their garage paying for their vender status let alone other "tuners" paying the man to use this forum to make sales. Until hypertech decides they want to participate in the vender program here, I will hope they respect my request of keeping their products (future and present) off the forum.

My apologies to those interested in what they are doing, all I can tell you is that this forum is not your only option for contacting hypertech and suggest you look elsewhere for your answers.

Thank you for your understanding,

-Andrew

Re: Is the Jetchip a complete waste?

Andrew you and I have already discussed this matter privately, but for the sake of clarity for everyone else reading the thread, i was really asking if any of our members were using this product.

Although I do not have any stake in this, i would like to say that it would be in the interest of everyome to have another tuning authority represented on the forum. I can tell you that specifically the 2007-2010 TBs are one of my biggest sellers and several of my past customers would very much likesome form of basic tuning. Add that none of the other tuning brands represented on here offer support, and you have a no brainer .

Re: Is the Jetchip a complete waste?

I picked up the hypertech programmer for my 2010 3.7L. I am running the "regular" tune. I can say that I definitely did notice a couple differences: mpg went up slightly, maybe 1-1.5mpg (will need more time with the tune to see if this holds true); definite increase in power but primarily only under 3/4-full throttle and at higher rpms (5K+). I certainly dont spend much time winding my 3.7L up that high, but on the occasional full throttle blast or downshift on the highway, I certainly feel the extra grunt. I would also say that normal everyday driving seems to have a little more low end, but keep in mind I have a FRP taper-bored TB as well as an Airaid full intake (removed resonator).

Is it giving me the claimed 25 horsepower increase on regular gas? Well I doubt it, just doesnt seem feasible. But there is a definite noticable difference in acceleration and mpg's in combination with my intake and modified TB. Overall with these 3 mods I have to say driving the 3.7 has certainly become more enjoyable. Obviously nowhere near the performance of the bigger engines by any means, but the extra driveability the 3.7L WK needed to actually feel somewhat quick.

Next up will be to try out the higher octane tune.

For what its worth, I did not mean for this post to be a means for Hypertech to advertise their products without being a supporting vendor. I am just posting my opinion of their product and have no affiliation with that vendor.

Yeah. SCT. And just the CAI and bored TB alone is quite awesome.

Anybody have info on a 180 t-stat for a 3.7? What improvements and where can I find one?

Wrong. SCT is not available for 2007-2010 3.7s. So it is either Jet Chip of some sort, or Hypertech, or B&G Flash, or hope and wait for Diablo to do 3.7 tuning. It would not surprise me if the Jeep 3.7 code is similiar to the Jeep 4.7 after 2008, which is probably not terribly DISsimiliar to the Dodge 08+ 4.7 tuning. Some of you folks that want truly custom tuning should be voicing your opinion on the Diablosport forums.

180 stats are fine. You can either drill some holes in a stock T stat, or get one from Jet. Just make sure you bleed the air out.

Re: Is the Jetchip a complete waste?

I know that the SCT will not work on 2007-2010. I was just voicing my opinion on it. Sorry if I was misleading.

What benefits will I gain from a 180 t-stat? Will it accompany my 93 tune?
