Misleading to say the least.

Re: Jeep 5.7L vs 4.7L

My previous Jeep was a 99 JGC Limited with the 4.7 L engine RFE 45 trans and QD. It was just as quick as my '12 Hemi up to 60 mph; beyond 60 mph the Hemi wins hands down. BTW the '12 WK2 5.7 averages two mpg more the '99 which is pretty amazing considering the Overland Summit weighs 1100 lbs more but also has a lower drag coefficient.

Re: 5.7L vs 4.7L

I believe the 5.7 WK's do have 3.73 gears. I could see where a good running 4.7 WJ (probably lighter) could hang with a ~5000+ lb. (w/driver) 5.7 WK for a bit, but probably not the whole 1/4 mile, if that's what they were racing. The 1/8 mile may be a little closer.

Glad that someone that owns a 5.7L said that. Saying that a 5.7L is slow to someone who owns one is fighting words for some reason

The 4.7L H.O is.

Re: Jeep 5.7L vs 4.7L

First gen 4.7 = 5 pound sledge
First gen 4.7 HO = 6 pound sledge
Second gen 4.7 = 7 pound sledge
5.7 hemi = 8 pound sledge
6.1-6.4 srt = jackhammer

Considering this is in the WK section, yes. The hemi has way more power in the same package, now the WJ being about 600lbs lighter with a smaller factory tire = less unsprun weight, more torque to the tire due to its shorter diameter (with the same 3.73 gear ratio), Yes the WJ 4.7 stock to WK 5.7l stock is much closer but the WK 4.7l is a slow pig, still considerably better than the dead pig that is the 3.7l but still leaves alot to be desired.
