Re: Jeep 5.7L vs 4.7L

Nobody has ever said: Does that thing got a 4.7? Swwwweeeettt lol. And for those of you that keep touting the 4.7l vs 5.7l on Youtube, do a little more research on those engines (especially Commander 5.7 vs WK 4.7) and you'll see that the Hemi always wins

Edit: If anyone on this thread is anywhere close in Massachusetts, I'll glady race my Hemi against your 4.7, bring it!

Are you talking about the Commander and WK going at it on dirt? LOL..... at that point, its a race against who has the better tires and 4WD system.

The Commander weighs more than the WK..... a lot more. On a paved road a 4.7L WK would be dead even with a 5.7L Commander.... you damn near needed a 5.7L in a Commander to get that land boat moving..... the 3.7L was a joke in that thing (along with the WK)

Don't think he said anything about dirt?.....

Agree with the commander being heavy as heck. Have we not had two members on here race one another? Same gens etc

He said that a 4.7 WK vs 5.7 Commander was on Youtube. I checked out youtube and all I can see was a few videos of those two cars racing on a dirt road.

Re: Jeep 5.7L vs 4.7L

Yes and you also mentioned the Commander is a lot heavier than the WK, which it is. The WK in the video has the 4.7 and the Commander has the 5.7. So if you're making a "weight" comparison even though the Commander has the 5.7, shouldn't the lighter WK (less weight needing to be pushed) be able to keep up, no matter what surface they are on? It doesn't indicate if they both have Quadra Drive 1 or 2 but that shouldn't matter much. There's also a Ram comparison, same trucks but one with the 4.7 and the other with the 5.7. The guy in the 4.7 is taping the Hemi beat him out consistently.

Re: Jeep 5.7L vs 4.7L

Are you joking? Racing on a dirt road will always be different on a paved road. Other factors weigh in on it more so than engine.
