Re: Lifetime powertrain warranty

That noise in your video sounds like the shield behind the rotor is bent and hitting the rotor.

Yep. 65K miles, 65 visits, 4 unresolved warranty issues.
I get MIL every 40 miles (P0153 O2 sensor 2/1 slow response) and MDS fails every day.

Kept telling Chrysler they would have been money ahead to replace it and use it as a mechanic's training platform. Probably $5K in parts and twice that in labor costs so far.....and the fun continues. Goes in Tuesday night (for 3 days) to have the RHS head pulled.

Anyone at Chrysler wish to discuss my "ownership experience"? Nope. 2 customer satisfactory surveys sent to me, filled out, and returned to Jeep - no response!

I got rid of my last vehicle (03 Range Rover) because it was always going into the dealership. I paid $4500 for the 4yr, 100k extended warranty and the dealership put well over $25k into repairs for it. I called the warranty company in an attempt to sell the warranty back to them for a higher price than I paid and they ignored me. That same warranty on the newer models now sells for $9k+.

Anyhow, one of my primary priorities in my last purchase(buying the WK) was reliability. I've only owned it for 8k miles now, but so far it's had zero issues that required it to go to a mechanic/dealership. Just out of curiosity, when did yours start acting up?

9 mos. after new - or- <20K miles on the odometer.

It's not that there are lots of new problems. It is the same 4 issues, but they cannot locate the root cause of any of them. Thus, we are in a "cut & paste" mode. Gotta give the dealer credit for being persistent in the face of adversity.

Like one GC owner put it, "My Grand Cherokee isn't getting older, it's getting newer ......part-by-part."

As I stated above, it goes in tonight for the RHS cylinder head removal/inspection. Generated a MIL and threw the same DTC (P0153) on the way to work today. I left the MIL on. They can freeze-frame the parameters.
