Magnaflow vs Flowmaster

2010 GC 5.7 Hemi.

Two weeks ago I swapped out the stock muffler for a Magnaflow 12289:
3" In/Out, Center & Offset, 5 x 8 Oval x 24"

Thought it was the right product for my preference. Too loud at cruise speed - 70MPH - 2000 RPMs. I can live with all else but not that. Wife is on the fence here!!

A Flowmaster 50 Series Delta muffler was recommended.

Will this muffler be quieter than the Magnaflow?

If so, Magnaflow muffler is for sale and I will purchase the Flowmaster.

I understand how subjective and personal these preferences can be so I am looking for a simple answer. Will it be quieter?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers, Dusty

Re: Magnaflow vs Flowmaster

Hello there, coming from a pony car perspective, the 50 series flows are quieter than magnaflows. i'm sure they will suit you just fine. they have a low deep tone upon acceleration and mellow out at speed. i've heard them on several SUV's and like them a lot, but to quiet for me.

and yeah i'm new around here, lurking and gathering information because i plan on buying a JGC as well.

Re: Magnaflow vs Flowmaster

i know this is a flow vs mag topic, but has anyone tried dynomax, i ran one on my 3.7 and loved it, i got a flow super 44 and im really not impressed. i will be switchin back to dynomax when i go to duals.

Re: Magnaflow vs Flowmaster

I've had a magnaflow and a flowmaster 40 on a 4.0l ........... I will NEVER again have a magnaflow. the 40 did drone, i haven't had a 50.
At the moment i have a cherrybomb vortex on my hemi with no res into duals. it drones at 60ish mph but above and below are just fine.
