Melling oil pump? Lifters?

Anyone running a Melling oil pump... or any other aftermarket oil pump on their hemi? I'm about to do some serious work on it an wonder if its worth the extra $100 buying the Melling.

The oil lifters worth replacing at 90k? Did dino oil for the first 55k miles and now on Quaker State Ultimate Durability... always 3000 OCI. The problem with it is they are $400 and on back order till the end of the month, which will delay my installation plans, which I don't want.

Re: Melling oil pump? Lifters?

The stock oil pump is more than adequate, but if you want a little better, just put a 6.1 pump in it. While you have it apart, put a 6.1 timing chain tensioner in it too. They have 4 tensioner springs instead of the 2 on the 5.7. What are you planning to do to it? Depending on what you're going to do would determine if you should replace the lifters. In any case, the intake manifold and heads have to come off to change them.
