I can see that being a reason if the EGR valve is stuck open you may get exhaust noise that will resonate through the little metallic pipe that is routed into your intake manifold.

Did you run it through the intake? That made mine run better, in the oil it freed up some stickyness
Now if only I'd get that tune.......

In the oil. I did that while it was running so it mixed well. So far, SMOOOOTH & QUIET!

Just listen for the sound try to pinpoint where its coming from. You may also have a leaking exhaust manifold. Its not uncommon for the bolts to rust on a 5.7 and snap causing a manifold leak.

Re: My hemi tick is gone!!!

Sometimes I think that I have an exhaust manifold leak but I have noticed that putting good gas in my Jeep has helped to quiet the tick down big time. Sometimes there is absolutely no tick at all on a cold start up. I guess it really could be the injectors causing the tick like some people say.

Changing EGR will not necessarily cure it. Didn't on mine.

When I watch the EGR commanded and actual positions on the DashDAQ XL, it shows the EGR valve closed at idle and when MDS is active.

I did notice a significant decrease of the HEMI tick on full synthetic oil. Dealer just changed mine (with dino oil I found out) and the "HEMI tick" returned. Thankfully, there was no charge for oil/filter now. It also flashed the oil change required EVIC message as 2,500 miles. It's coming up on 5K miles, so I'll change back to full synthetic then.

Re: My hemi tick is gone!!!

I just did the seafoam and the tick is still there. How can I tell if the EGR is bad? I just had the oil changed after about 150 miles of seafoam. I put mobile one in it. Do you think I should try it again? Maybe out a whole can in the oil? I just dont want to have to change my oil after 3 days from putting synthetic in it. What are your thoughts guys?

An off the subject heads up.....Walmart has the 5 qt. jug of Mobil One on sale for $22.47 each. Both my rides are within 2K of needing oil changes, so I picked up two.
