Re: Neeedz moar horsepowerz

Get yourself a good heads/cam combo, srt lifters (gets rid of MDS), cmr tune, forged pushrods, and headers at the same time if you have the coin. Then look into an intake manifold and ported throttle body down the road.
You'll also want to get a set of forged pushrods when swapping the heads.
If you want, shoot me a PM and I can get you some pricing on the heads/cam/pushrods.

I want to do it at the same time as my air suspension. I just don't know if it'll destroy the tranny. Anybody know if any members on this site have done a supercharger before on the 5.7?
Thats $6000 for 80 horsepower...I dont see it.

Thanks for all the input. I still dont have the cash until maybe february to do much but I'll order an intake in the next few weeks and a throttle body to go with it

Re: Neeedz moar horsepowerz

Few more questions:

---Why do i see many people with a 180 degree thermostat...does that really do anything?
---How much power should i see out of a throttle body/intake combo? And should I switch out my tuner for a predator?
---Would deleting my muffler with an electric selectable cutoff in addition to my resonator delete be beneficial or would it be too little backpressure?

the 180 stat in combination with a lower temp fan engagement setting in your tune will allow your truck to run cooler, heat soak a little less, and especially with a tune, be less likely to knock. Hemis are very sensitive to knock.

TB + intake will probably net you 15-25 crank hp or so. Some intakes are better than others.

I know some gotten rid of the stock muffler but kept the reso in place.

I already deleted my stock resonator, was thinking of just putting an electric cutoff behind the cats so i can get serious grunt when i want it and then quite it down when people are in the truck

You're not going to gain much with a cutout except for noise.
