Re: New Comp Cam 260 after dyno results

Jeepgcoman those headers are sweet... Man I wish I had a good metal fabricating company around when I wanted headers... They must flow better than the 3-1 srt8 manifolds. Do your headers have an egr passage? If so... I'm wondering how exhaust gases get fed into the egr when the second cylinder is the mds cylinder?

Re: New Comp Cam 260 after dyno results

I don't believe the stock LX aftermarket headers will fit without some modification. When my exhaust guy built mine, one of the things he considered doing was getting a set of JBA LX headers (that's what I have on my LX) and cut them up to make them fit the WK. One other suggestion someone came up with it to try a set of Durango 5.7 headers. Don't know who makes them, but somewhere on one of these forums there is a picture, and they look like they might fit. The stock LX logs should bolt right on, but you'll need to make head pipe (Y) mods. (LX's are about 3/4 in. bigger collector) to get that to fit.

Dan, the EGR setup is similar to the stock logs, except it's external. No problems at all with it, but I told the guy to make sure the passage would flow enough so it worked properly. The tube he welded onto the header is approximately the same size as the hole in the head leading to the EGR Valve. Here's a couple more pix.

Re: New Comp Cam 260 after dyno results

His name is Tom Ammerman. Tell him Adrian referred you....maybe not though! He may double the price, LOL. Seriously, if you call him and he sounds interested, tell him I'd be willing to take my WK back in so he can spec. the headers. I know he was a little bummed after doing mine....lots of tight, difficult work and fitting.

Re: New Comp Cam 260 after dyno results

What's a hemi LX log usually found on guys, I'm new to the forum and to the jeep world. I live in australia and I just bought an 06 grand cherokee 5.7. I've put a custom exhaust on it (a friend owns a shop) and when I asked about headers he said my manifold had a HUGE outlet on it. So I think I may hav the LX log type manifold on mine. I've just put a K&N intake on it and have ordered a Diablo trinity that should arrive soon. Can't wait to put her on the dyno.

Re: New Comp Cam 260 after dyno results

That would be cool if your jeep accidentally had lx manifolds put on it from the factory... which is unlikely since they arent going to fabricate your jeep with special mid pipes. One way you can tell is if your mid pipes have been welded on and changed at the flanges, maybe the previous owner had them changed. Search back through the threads, jeepcogman has posted pictures of srt8 manifold vs jeep log vs lx log.

Re: New Comp Cam 260 after dyno results

You should be able to tell by just looking, because the LX ones are considerably larger. If you can print the pix of the two, side by side, you should be able to take it out to the vehicle and tell by comparing. The U.S. LX'ers also have the O2 Sensor bung on the manifold, not on the "Y" pipe. If I did this mod. I'd leave it where it is and cap the one in the manifold. LX manifolds can be found on Hemi Chrysler 300C's, Dodge Charger RT's and Daytonas, and (yeah) Dodge Magnum RTs.....for sure in years 2005-2008. Beyond that, I don't know what they're like. Let us know what you find out. I'd really like to know how they work out.

Any chance someone could post me a link to the pics of the stck manifold, LX manifold and SRT manifold. I'd love to check them out. Cheers.

Dude, its in this thread... But it's not srt8 manifolds.... It's jeepcogman's badass custom headers.
