Oil filter part numbers

I went through the posts of everyone's oil/filter types, but have something to add after a trip to the dealer...I had it in to replace the trans cooler line and the the tech said to stick to mopar filters only and avoid aftermarket filters, which is a way of saying, spend your money here.

Can everyone post what oil filter they're running, and the part number? I have a 2005 3.7 WK but why is it that when searching for filters, some are short and wider and others are taller and skinnier?

Re: Oil filter part numbers

Fram tough guard. I have to ask for one for a 2009 4.7. Most catalogs show the 2008 4.7 as using the old style for the previous gen 4.7

Re: Oil filter part numbers

Oil filter is pretty cut and dried. I'd stick with the mopar parts anywhere else on the car besides the engine. I just bought a mopar oil filter, to replace my K&N, when I change the motor oil. Got it at Walmart of all places...5 bucks. Bosch, K&N, and can't go wrong with Mopar, right?

Thanks for the heads up on that! I'll return this one and buy a K&N at another, more reputable store. I've liked the K&N and my oil analyses have always come back with no issues. No reason to change things up.
