Re: Predator vs SuperChips Driveability

Well I took care of one issue today and Im glad I did. I just bought the Jeep about two weeks ago from a dealer and they told me all about how they went through everything on it already for me and how it would be maintenance free for me lol. Well today I finally had time to go through it myself and one thing I found was that when they changed the trans fluid they left it about 3/4s of a quart low. I took the time and made sure now that it is 100% full when warm now and talk about a difference that made alone! Im so glad it was just that because I was seriously starting to think that I bought a vehicle with an issue. The shifting is like butter now and now when I let off the gas it feels soooooo much better. It wasnt so bad before that it was clunking but it felt like it was almost going to sometimes when I was at certain speeds and now it is just smooth. It used to take the trans a few miles to really warm up and shift smooth and now it takes just a few minutes like it should. Im so glad that I caught it now before I put some serious miles and strain on the trans with low fluid. Now that I got that taken care of I guess its time to get a custom tune and really be blow away lol

Re: Predator vs SuperChips Driveability

I also disconnected the battery while I was working on it today and filled up. I only drove around for 20 miles or so tonight but I dunno if it was the trans or I needed the computer to re learn but the EVIC went from high 14mpgs to low 18mpgs already

So your transmission fluid was a little low, that fixed your lag in the transmission from 30-45 mph? The lag is driving me nuts I have slam on the pedal to get out of the speed.

Re: Predator vs SuperChips Driveability

No the lag is still there and so is a little shutter or surging feeling that still only randomly happens when Im in the 30 to 45mph range. Right now the only way I know of to take care of this is to power through it exactly like you are saying you do and it also drives me nuts lol.

Adding more transmission fluid fixed the soft shifting that I was experiencing and a weird feeling when I would let off the pedal. Sometimes it would feel like the transmission was almost going to clunk into the next gear but I guess it just had enough fluid to stay smooth.

No I havent cleaned it and by the looks of the pcv and some vacuum lines I probably really need to clean it. I was planning on taking it off this weekend and cleaning it out by hand like everyone else seems to do.

Re: Predator vs SuperChips Driveability

I'll tell ya, cleaning the pcv,the TB and changing the EGR did WONDERS for mine. it took care of alot of rough idle and lagging problems.............. granted the DS did more to lose the lag ,but it was after doing the others.

Re: Predator vs SuperChips Driveability

I cleaned the TB changed the PVC valve, changed spark plugs, The only thing I have not done is the EGR. I got 38k on my jeep. I also got a catch can which works great catches alot of oil. If you do not have one get one.Is there a flash for the 05 hemi transmission?
