Re: Predator vs SuperChips Driveability

My spark plugs are already new and I think that I definitely need a catch can. Is there a way to check if my egr has been replaced already? Like will the stock egr be a certain brand and the replacement egrs another? If its dirty I guess its worth changing either way. I was thinking about it today while driving and I dunno how a dealer flash of the pcm could get rid of the lag. It seems to me that most of the lag is caused by the drive by wire and the fact that the engine has to pull such a tall gear at that speed. If I read correctly on wkjeeps.com the trans will shift from 3rd to 5th while cruising when certain requirements are met. Thats why Im thinking that the best way to really get rid of the lag is a custom tune.

Re: Predator vs SuperChips Driveability

have you tried just dropping it into 4th or using tow/haul in town? keeps mds off and tow mode changes shift points.

Re: Predator vs SuperChips Driveability

No I havent tried that yet but have thought about both of those. I will try them out but I think like alot of guys I just want to be able to drive my vehicle and have some decent power on tap lol, without having to think about punching in a launch sequence with all the buttons in the vehicle

the DS makes it nice -for damn sure, but in the meantime it helps. I've been doing it for months

Re: Predator vs SuperChips Driveability

People that have the trans shutter or chatter or whatever you guys call it lol. How strong is it? Do you just barely feel it in the pedal or is it extreme? Like shaking the car apart extreme?

Re: Predator vs SuperChips Driveability

you dont feel it in the pedal, and it doesnt shake the car apart (not the normal "shudder" anyway). it's just a little vibration ,like a shiver.

Re: Predator vs SuperChips Driveability

Ok that makes alot more sense. I was wondering how all these people still drive their jeep everyday if it really shakes violently like some people describe

This made a huge difference in drivability on mine. Make sure to install a catch can at the same time, or the TB will just get gunked up again. The entire intake manifold also gets coated with the gunk, so the CC will keep that from getting any worse.
