Re: Recommendation 05 WK hemi

With your limitations, there is not a lot you can do. In the "old" days we used to have a cutout welded in (on the WK it must be behind the rear O2 Sensors and in front of the muffler), and either leave it open (really loud) or put a couple washers (on the cap bolts) between the cutout cap and the cutout....not quite as loud, depending on the number of washers you use. Some other things you could do for cheap (not a lot of noise increase) is remove the resonator at the back of the exhaust system, remove the muffler and leave the resonator (again louder), or remove both muffler and resonator (pretty loud) and replace with straight pipes. All you have to do is find a muffler shop that is willing to work with you. Also, be aware that any of these mods. will give you a pretty good MDS drone when it is active. It'll kind of sound like an anemic ricer. Good luck.

Would put your money towards doing a tune up before you mod your jeep. Engine oil, tranny fluid, spark plugs, and anything else it needs so you know first hand that they are clean and in good order.

The hemi will be pretty safe with whatever you pick towards the exhaust. Go to YouTube to see different sounds to help you pick. I personally have the borla on my 05 hemi and the sound was great for what it was.

Just have an 18in Magnaflow muffler welded in. 200 bucks and done.
