Re: Side Exhaust + Shorty Headers Project

Good to hear you're closing in on perfection with the new system. From what we all have seen/read, it hasn't been easy. Thanks for all your input, as many of us are looking to do the same/similar to our WK's.

Re: Side Exhaust + Shorty Headers Project

Thanks guys! On a sad note the iPhone connector on my Trinity broke so I need to ship that off to diablosport for repair. Since it uses the same connector as the iPhone Ill prob try a cell phone repair company first. Should be faster and cheaper.

For the wheels I went with 265/65/18 hankook rf10's with 18x9" chrome ballistic jesters

Re: Side Exhaust + Shorty Headers Project

There are some pics in another thread, I think it's titled "need new tires"? I still haven't washed it since getting the wheels. The bfg mt's looked better but the ride is so much better with the all terrains that I don't mind. I prob should have gone with a wider tire but wasn't sure it'd fit. I don't have to run spacers now which is nice, but with a 9" wheel maybe 275's would have looked better. I'll take some new pics tomorrow and post them up. I'm using the iPhone right now and reposting the pics would be a pain!

Re: Side Exhaust + Shorty Headers Project

Thanks, I dont really like that "deep dish" look but if i wanted to get rid of the spacers i guess that's what had to happen

Re: Side Exhaust + Shorty Headers Project

Thanks! So do i paint the calipers tomorrow? If so what color? You really cant see them that much behind the wheels so maybe its not worth it

Re: Side Exhaust + Shorty Headers Project

Well i got them installed. I met a neighbor in the garage during the install. I tell him it's pretty easy but something always happens to me on that last bolt... Well sure enough, i get to the last wheel and my jack breaks! I had a jackstand under the cross member, so the jeep is up, but not enough to get the tire of the ground; so im stuck! Theres too much weight on the jack stand to get it out and drive to get a new jack, but its too low to finish that last wheel. So i went back up to my apt and watched the American Lemans race until the girlfriend got home, then just used her jack to finish it up. I havent driven it yet or wore the brakes in yet, but at least theyre on.

I also fixed a broken wire on my transmission pressure sensor. This wire has been broken right at the connector for a long time now which makes it hard to splice. Well i had a sonnax line pressure booster laying around and it has the same connector, so i just cut the sonnax in half at the wires and replaced the old connector with the sonnax. Now i just need to get some stinking TPMS sensors, the check tpms system light is getting old!
