For sake of asking - which SRT8 headers need to be used? Are all SRT8 headers the same between WK Grand Cherokee's and LX's?

Re: SRT Headers + Mid pipes + custom cat back dual exhaust = DONE

Welcome, I see you found your way over here. I think they'll have to be Jeep SRT's. If you do LX's, they'll have to be modified.....probably quite a bit. I don't know that anyone has actually tried it though. 555csv's thread on this subject has some pictures showing the stock WK log manifold and an LX shorty header. I think all that has to be done is to bring them closer to the flange....cut a little off each tube and weld them back onto the flange. The frame rails on the LX are a little wider than the on the WK. Other than that, I think just modification of the "Y" pipe is all that needs to be done. Any good muffler shop should be able to do this.

Obx 6.1 lts fit wk 5.7s.. pre 08 without mods except for the hole for mds. After 08 a little trimming is needed but nothing major.

Me and sleeps are running the OBX headers. Since the OBX ones are replicas of kooks those should work too.

How much harder is it to install a set of long tubes (OBX or otherwise)? I did them on my old 7.5L F250, and even with a relatively empty engine bay, it was a pain!

Ummm painful. Requires you to remove air intake completely belt alternator drop the ac compressor fender liners battery/holder unplug all the wires near the fuses and relocate them front driveshaft and unbolt the steering column so its loose. Then unless you change the dipstick stock one requires bending.

After you installed and replaced every thing just takes a new exhaust welded in to make it work.

Yikes, yeah. Had to trim the fender liners on the F250 for the headers, they were a fenderwell exit style, and just about everything else had to change to get them to fit (pulling the shock mount towers too, what a pain when that's what the motor mounts also bolt to!)

I'll keep my eyes open for a GC srt8 set of headers and mid pipes, seems like that's the most straightforward path that's also relatively close to bolt on!

An exhaust shop gave me HUGE props for doing these myself. They said these are one of the worst headers to install amongst all cars.
