Re: Superchips 3875 advanced transmission tuning help

Did you pay for the extra module for the tranny tuning? I didn't but it looks like there is some adjustment you can do.

I do not know at all what to adjust so I haven't messed with it. It would be great to hear what some have done and suggest simple and safe adjustments that can be done.

Extra module? I bought the extra $40 advanced tuning option from superchips if that's what you mean

Ok cool. I wish there were more people on here that would chime in on this. I'm thinking about calling superchips and seeing if they have any recommendations

Re: Superchips 3875 advanced transmission tuning help

You can use there own tune for trans app. That's what I did. Was not comfortable enough to set my own. If you call Superchips they won't tell you how to do it due to liability reasons. There are few on here that have did there own maybe they can chime in. Or check other jeep forums as well There is one for up shifts and one for down shifts.

Re: Superchips 3875 advanced transmission tuning help

I would start with Superchips own tune for the trans app to get started it works pretty good. Once you have done more research on modifying your own shift points you can give it a try. Good luck

Re: Superchips 3875 advanced transmission tuning help

Although the ATT App. setup looks a little intimidating, it is really no big mystery. The way I started with mine is to identify the things I didn't like about the up/down shifts and the torque management and wrote them down. Also, manually upshift through each gear at light thottle and decide where you want the upshift points to be. Then go into the App. and make the changes as you see fit. You'll notice that the up and downshift settings for each gear are in miles per hour. The torque management settings are in percentages for each gear and wide open throttle. Also adjust them in small (maybe 10% at a time) increments until you get them where you want them. Lowering the TM makes the shifts feel more firm, and if you're like me you'll want firmer shifts, not oozing into each gear. With my mods. I'd be buying a new transmission before long if I run it very long with the stock settings. I've tried it again recently after I serviced the transmission and installed the Transgo Valve Body Shift Kit....less than $50. If you want the transmission to work a little better yet, add the Sonnax Line Pressure Booster too....another $50, but IMO, the ATT App. is a must for sure.

Overall, I have mine set up to shift later and the downshifts set so the engine never lugs. The torque management for some conditions is set to zero. Bottom line, don't be afraid to mess with it, set it the way YOU want it for your purposes and periodically tinker with the settings as you see fit. I've been running the App. since May 22, 2010 and have made about a dozen different reditions since then to get where I am today, even though I got it pretty close the first time. Since installing the Transgo Shift Kit in mine, I've found that I'll have to make a few more adjustments, mostly do the 1-2 and 2-1 up/down shifts and a little in the torque management area. Good luck and have fun.

Superchips 3875 advanced transmission tuning help

I just set mine back to the superchips setting. My only issue honestly is how it bogs out once it gets into 3rd to 4th bcz then I have to tap the gas peddle to get it to speed up and it aggravates the hell out of me

Re: Superchips 3875 advanced transmission tuning help

You might want to try sprintbooster. It eliminates almost all of the throttle lag and dead spots in the pedal. I added this after I put the Superchips 91 tune and the trans app and was a night and day difference. It's pricey but it's well worth it. Wish I would have put this on sooner.
