Re: tb size on 5.7 hemi

THe OD is 3 3/8 "; I just installed an MM CNC ported TB and have the stocker on the bench. THe stock intake is a true CAI whereas a tube with a cone is a hot air intake. When the engine is warmed up, underhood temps are high = it loses considerable HP versus stock. Second, you need a very solid (metal or plastic) tube, or else the tube will resonate. Just keep it stock and it will drive better and quieter. Even the K & N intake is a hot air intake, plus it loses low end torque versus stock, which is where the motor spend the majority of its time.
