Throttle Body Rewire

would it be possible to rewire the DBW harness so the throttle body will respond faster. rewire in much of the same way you would a fuel pump to supply more fuel pressure.

i ask because i have read about the tb ground mod in which you run a ground wire from the tb to the battery to "clean the signal and create a stronger ground"

that seem fine in all, but the 3.7 has a plastic tb and will not support a ground mod like that.

ive thought about a way around that. one way is a rewire, the other is to splice a ground into the ground on the ETC harness and run that to the batt. problem i see with that is may interfere with what the NGC PCM reads as that ground gose back to the pcm. this is why i thought bout a tb rewire.

any advice or tips is much appreciated...

if this works, we may not need to spend 300$ on a sprint booster for improved throttle response....

Re: Throttle Body Rewire

Pretty sure the 3.7 TB has metal bolt sleeves, so yes it will support grounding.

The key is to skew the throttle position voltsge.

Re: Throttle Body Rewire

how tho, even with metal sleaves it still bolts to a all plastic manifold, besides the metal anchors in the manifold

Re: Throttle Body Rewire

IF that is true then it would make sense as to why I have no noticed a difference on the 3.7L. I have not really investigated it though.

Re: Throttle Body Rewire

See now this thread is intresting, i have been doing research on this and im figureing out a way to rewire this thing to boost the voltage on it(for a faster response) my ony issue is the wires i need to "mess with" run back to the ecu and i am unsure the affect it will have on it

Re: Throttle Body Rewire

Have you done the TB ground mod? I have tried a couple different ground points. This seems interesting though but I wouldn't know the first thing about rewiring DBW.

Re: Throttle Body Rewire

I looked into grounding my throttle body as well but found the plastic TB on my 2008 3.7 WK- I'm also curious to what route to take to make a TBG mod possible.

Re: Throttle Body Rewire

im thinking the simple route would be to splice a ground wire into the DBW harness ground and run it to the batt.
