Question Thrush Welded Question...

I just purchased a Thrush Welded Muffler for my '10 3.7L and I was looking around on YouTube and found a video of a guy who has a 2010 3.7L WK with the same muffler and it is the same sound I want, but he said the resonator tip was removed. I know this may be a dumb question, but I've never dealt with exhaust before so can someone explain what he is talking about? And how do I go about removing it? I should get it tomorrow so I want to install it ASAP but I was wanting to make sure I figured this out before I start welding things together.

Re: Thrush Welded Question...

well the 3.7 doesn't have a resonator. the stock setup has the manifolds, catted mid pipes, and a large muffler and tail pipe section. the thrush welded will give the same sound a FM super 40, but is constructed much better. He probably swapped the muffler out for the thrush and ran the factory tail pipe section without adding a tip. In my opinion, tips don't do much for sound unless the tip is long. You should check out my Build thread on mine, I have a few exhaust vids to enjoy. I own a 2008 3.7.
