Transfer Case recall????

My '06 Hemi has a recall to re-flash the final drive controller. I have a tune in the PCM, do/should I re-install the factory tune before going in?? not sure they will be doing anything with the PCM. I may call Diablosport tomorrow.

Yes take the tune out. Always do that when going to the dealer. If its the n23 recall you had better read up on it before taking it in.

Definitely return the tune to stock. If you don't and they modify the PCM/TCM programming in any way, your tuner will no longer work. It'll cost ~$100 to get the Diablosport folks to reset it.

As Kman09JGC said, read up on the N23 Recall first. IMO, this is an absolute must. One of the other Jeep forums has a thread dealing with this that is now over 170 pages long and has over 2500 posts. I will not get it done on mine until they can assure me it won't cause the loss of 4Low. There are plenty of threads on all the Jeep forums detailing the issues caused by this recall. Believe me, it's something you don't want to deal with, unless you have lots of time (and probably $$$) to spend at the stealer or purchasing a "pre-N23" FDCM.

Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

Re: Transfer Case recall????

If it wasn't for reading the thread on jeepforum about the n23 recall back in july I would of had it done and im glad I didn't. I will be using the parking brake until they get a fix which I don't see in the near future. Do not let them perform the recall yet you will lose 4low.

Re: Transfer Case recall????

MY 2010 is at the dealer for this exact issue. I am at 99,300 miles into a 100K extended warranty and was checking things out before my warranty expires and noticed I could not get the GC to shift into 4WD low, and I have had this recall done. Just called my SA and mentioned it and he confirmed that there is "procedure" that they are supposed to do following the recall to keep the 4WD low operational and that they failed to do that when they did the recall, so they are taking care of it now.

I'll let you know how it goes.
