Re: What does everyone do to save gas?

Both. CAI and some kind of tuner. Make sure all your fluids are fresh and clean as well. Use good gas...

In the super hot areas, don't get gas during the day. Try to go first thing in the morning. The reason being, that the heat expands the gasoline so when you're filling up, its gonna condense down a lil when its cold... Also, never fuel up when the gas truck is there because the gas will be more turbulent and have air in it. Just some food for thought!

Re: What does everyone do to save gas?

I was getting kind of crappy mileage... found that the battery was pretty much toast, got a new one put in and actually went up a couple mpg all around, wonder if it was because the motor didnt have to work the alternator as much... but go figure heh

Installed the Gibson exhaust today and now my average mpg is reading is 5.5. Just goes to show what WOT does. Time to go back to driving Mrs. Daisy.

Re: What does everyone do to save gas?

I drove 45 miles yesterday, combined HWY and City and my 5.7 mpg was 22.5. This is with an AFE stage II CAI, cleaned TB, 89 oct. running AT tires at 30 psi. I am due for an oil change too, and will be doing it today. MPG gets much worse as you go over 65 mph, so I just cruise the speed limit, arrive a few minutes later than if I had driven 70-75. IF you mpg are that bad with the 5.7, could be the egr going bad, dirty TB, and leadfoot syndrome.

I bought a bike, the money I save on gas pays for the bike and insurance, plus I save miles on my jeep
