I browsed around for a while looking at all the different intakes and it has the makings of a bwoody where it connects to the TB , but the intake itself does not match up. It looks more like a K&N. I guess I'll just call it a hybrid!
Do you think it's worth keeping? Or should I just buy a true Bwoody. The one true negative on this is that the sensor that goes in the CAI Tube is "jerryrigged" to sit in there. There is not grommet or anything, just a hole. I might end up buying the tube itself from Bwoody so I have a spot to properly install it.
I'd say that it totally homemade. 90 silicone elbow, black PVC pipe, K&N filter, and a homemade heat shield. Looks like somebody did a really good job with it too. I'd look into what 05WK said, look for a grommet that would work.
I think I will look for a grommet on that. It seems like something should be out there to work.
The pipe is actually a aluminum or steel pipe, its just got quiet a bit of abrasion. I might replace it with a new one somewhere, i cant stand the look of wore out parts haha.
Why wouldn't it be cold? It has a heat sheild that seals to the hood, the cold air comes up from underneath, where some Bwoody filters are/go. When sitting still, all intakes will heat soak somewhat, but that doesnt mean its not a C.A.I.
