Look at what they tested this on. A 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. The engine is different from the 2007. I have emailed this to them numerous times and still have not heard a reply back...
Very interesting test results with this "tuner comparison" on a Nissan Frontier... both tests the HyperTech had a small margin of betterment on this stock vehicle

Comparision test between a hypertech and a superchips cortex programmer on my 2008 Frontier 2wd automatic.
The 87 octane tests were done in 40 degree weather about ten minutes apart from each other.
The 93 octane tests were done in 55 degree weather about 15 minutes apart from each other.
The superchips tests were done with the rev limiter raised (hypertech does not have this feature). I also tested the superchips on 93 octane with the timing advanced 2 and 3 degrees but the times were not as fast as they were with the timing at 0.

very late to this post, just stumbled accross it on research for a tunner. Anyway, the 47 hp gain is not the gain over peak horsepower. It instead represents the moment that the tune experiences the greatest contrast to the factory tune. In the attached (http://www.hypertech.com/Performance...er_4_7L_V8.pdf ), look at the 4800 rpm range. The stock tune (solid blue line) is at about 200 hp. The tune on premium fuel (Solid Green) at this same rpm is just shy of 250 hp. They are advertising this difference (ie 47 hp). +47HP @ 4850 RPM
In any event, I am looking for a tunner for my 08 4.7 (GenII). Any suggestions? What is available for this year?
