2010 3.0 CRD does not start
This thread is just a warning what can happen when original battery spill the acid. It is a true story. It happen to my 2010 GC.
Everything started in Jun last year when I noticed white-green corrosion on ECM. Place of the ECM is the most stupid place to mount. It is mounted directly under the battery. My mistake was that I did not react immediately when corrosion was spotted and clean ECM and connector.
Now, mid of Jan this year, after arriving home (400 km trouble free drive) and parking the GC behind the house overnight problem arose in the morning. Jeep did not start. WTF, engine crank but not run. After several attempts, road assistance called. No help. Truck was towed to the workshop. First diagnosis was that there is no fuel to the injectors.
To make long story short it was discovered that 96 pin connector is completely corroded so new motor cable harness was ordered and replaced. Results engine crank and start but did not run properly. Tested with new ECM and all is OK.
So 4300 EURO later I have my truck running as it should.
What was replaced: ECM, motor wire harness, fuel filter and common rail pressure sensor.
So if you notice any kind of corrosion on the ECM and connector bellow the battery, act immediately or it can be very expensive (in Europe for sure)
This is not complain about quality but just a WARNING.
Enjoy your CRD WK
