HI all , new here with a few questions

Located in northern ONtario and am a jeep fanatic, I just bought a 07 wk quad drive II for my wife to replace her CRD LIberty and keep the '90 Grand Wag -w- 4bt cummins, 60 jeepster & 81 CJ company.

Couple of questions for the gurus out there:

I really hate ABS - we live on gravel and ABS just sucks. way to many heart stopping motments wondering if it is going to stop- Can I get a tune that disables it with the skid control crap? Should be simple no? 4low disables it.

On our liberty I just pulled the ABS fuse and lived with the light - dash looked like a christmas tree anyways at 397k

Had the Wk for 5800kms and the tranny crapped out (132K total) apparently according to the dealer 3&4 are slipping and oil is black. Putting a new tranny in - is there any mods I should be doing at the same time while I am at it? built trannies available?

Swirl motor went 600kms after purchase so did the resistor fix BUT is under aftermarket warranty... So what is the Flat rate for replacing a SWIRL motor? Figure they owe me a swirl motor installed - my choice wether I do it or not. Same as when someone hits you - want the cash or car repair - your choice.

Rather Disheartened on the issues my jeep has in the first 6000 kms.

THanks,
John

Hi Gran_Wag

I have an 08 wk diesel, If I were you I would do the Green Diesel Engineering Tune. It Disables the swirl motor and Gives you more horsepower and torque also disabling the egr which is a bonus. Best thing I ever did for my Jeep. I got both the Hot tune and Eco tune. I figure 700 bucks is better than 4 to 5 thousand to change out the swirl motor. Check out the Green Diesel Engineering web site.

THanks I am going to do that - can you tow with the hot tune? EGT's stay low?

You will not have issue with EGT temps with towing using the hot Tune. Check out conflicted racers web page. He put out a lot of info on fixes, mods and improvements for our WK's. He upgraded to a wk2 but his web page is still up. His link is below. If I were you I would install a PROVENT 200 catch can. The reason is I'm pretty sure you will have oil build up in your turbo and into your intercooler and this oil drips down on to the swirl motor which why yours went belly up...I installed a catch one of the best mods I did. No more oil sucked into the turbo or intercooler.

By the way when doing oil changes make sure you pour have into the filter housing and the other half into the oil fill. Most dealers don't do this but you should, so oil gets to the bearings. And if I may suggest if Mobile 1 esp is to pricey at Canadian tire grab the Penzoil European formula 5w40..mobile is 16 bucks a litre whereas Penzoil euro formula is 10 bucks. And is 229.51 spec which is what u need due to having a DPF
