I felt like it was time for me to post something that may help others decide on when it's their turn to choose a lift kit and/or tire size. I learned a lot from this site but the one thing I could not research and get a 100% answer was if a 255/75 would fit without having to shave the uca bolt or buy spacers. If anyone else is wondering, the Cooper AT3's in 255/75 17 will fit but just barely. I do get a slight rub at full L/R but it's manageable. I am in the process of doing the pinch weld mod for added insurance.
The 1st photo is after the lift with 265/65 17 tires and the 2nd photo is with 255/75 17 tires.
Photos 3 and 4 show how close the uca bolt is to the tire.
As you can see in the 5th photo. I did get a small 1/4" tear on the inner boot either from the install or just freak coincidence. I used Shoe Goo as others have suggested and it's holding up just fine. Used brake cleaner, applied, let sit 16 hours and drove around 30 miles on the highway the very next day with no issues.
Photo 6 is after lift, 255/75 17 tires next to a newer Jeep GC.
Just want to give a shout out to everyone that has posted in this forum that helped me make these decisions. It was a 50/50 split when I bought this GC on either to do a lift or lower it and add 20's. So far, I'm happy with the lift.
I'll post up a pic on level ground in the next couple of days.
