2" Lifted Jeep question/problem

Hello All,

A friend just finished lifting my '09 5.7 GC using a 2" RC BB. Bilstein HD shocks all round. He had some 'concerns' about the angle of some of the joints:

1) In the following pics, he has explained that the CV joint is at an 'extreme' angle. He also points out here that the sway link bushings seem like they will not handle this new hight. If so what do you guys recommend in length for a 2" lift kit for sway links?

2) In this pic, he explained that the 'cup' that holds the spring is touching on either side, is this normal, if not what is the cause and how can it be corrected?

These are just concerns at this stage, it has not been driven yet - will go for a test drive on Saturday.

Much appreciated!

Just a dumb question, do the shocks/springs have to be installed 'compressed' as I can't understand how the lower spring perch is touching considering the RC lift spacer should not alter the dimensions to 'push' the spring assembly down into the arm like that ..

Help!

Re: 2" Lifted Jeep question/problem

So, Similar to this thread, (Help !!! Front Bilstein don't compress !?)

it turns out that the shocks sort of began to 'level' out after a bit of driving. I expect this to continue to some point and hence the stress on the joints will be reduced.

As for the Perch touching the wheel knuckle, this ONLY occurs when the car is lifted, when it is lowered to the ground it is about 3/4 of an inch away from the knuckle. Therefore the touching only occurs when the vehicle is airborne ... I think I can live with that

Should get the truck back tomorrow.
