2005 Limited steering issues

I've been searching around the forum the past couple of weeks but never really found a definitive answer. I purchased my Jeep used a couple of months ago. It's a 2005 Jeep GC Limited in Stone White with roughly 160,000 miles. I'm running 20x9 SRT reps with 275/45/20 Yokohamas. I've replaced the shocks/struts with Monroe and also replaced the springs with Eibach.

My issue is, I'm getting crazy amounts of bump steer at highway speed. Lane changes are terrifying and require both hands. The Jeep drives perfectly otherwise, no play in the steering, no vibrations at speed. What would you guys recommend I do to fix this?

How's your alignment? Recently done? Also, check the usual suspension suspects for wear. Did you check your tie rod ends and ball joints when you replaced your shocks/struts? If you've been recently aligned within factory spec, then you're probably okay, but note that ball joints are a notorious issue with these WKs.

I haven't been aligned yet. I was hoping to get it done shortly but other things keep getting in the way. Ball joints were also on my suspect list. I guess I'll add tie rod ends to the list as well.

Thanks for the info.

I'd get the alignment done first. There's a lot of adjustment on the WK and it's probable that it will tighten up your steering and fix any toe-ing issues causing the bump steering.

Only after you get that done would I really look into the other issues.

Also, remember that Firestone has a $150ish lifetime alignment package. I get one for each of my vehicles and get them checked up every few months. Would be useful, especially with you and those SRT Reps and wide tires eating up those potholes!
