Re: 2007 GC Overland 4x4 Ride Height

So I finally got a hold of 2008 WK Chrysler Parts Manual and looked up front and rear springs for my WK. It is in .pdf format and if I could firgure out to copy the pages in to pics I would post it. Anyways-Front Suspension, page 25 of 670, Group Suspension Front, Figure 2-110 shows front spring item number 19, and there are 12(!!) different parts numbers/codes. Rear Suspension, page 360 of 670, Group Rear Suspension, Figure 17-110, Item number 16 shows 7 different spring part numbers/codes. It does not tell you the rates, but the code break down tells you wtch spring went with what trim and engine combo. I am betting a loaded Limited or Overland with the tow package and 3.0L Diesel would have the strongest, heaviest springs. If those somehow got on a pick order, but the vehicle did not get that particular drivetrain, then I suppose it is possible to have a "factory freak" role out the door with a 1/4-1/2" on other WK's.

Re: 2007 GC Overland 4x4 Ride Height

Im sure that happens on the line from time to time. I still have a tag with a part# on my front right spring. Ill have to look it up. I dont know if it's for the spring or strut?

Re: 2007 GC Overland 4x4 Ride Height

Tag on the spring should just be for the spring. However, on page 25 of 670, Front Suspension Group, Section 2-110, item number 20, in the parts manualshows two different struts for the front. There is part# 05135573AJ-code SDA, then there is part# 05175959AC-code SDX, which is found on page 26 of 670. So.......I guess there are two different front sturts to go along with the various different front spring options. Lemme check the back...............Yep, there is also two different rear shocks. Page 359 of 670, Suspension Rear, Group 17-110, Item number 2. Part numbers 05290641AC-code SDX, and part# 52089751AJ-code SDA. Now I am absolutely convinced that a real, "Factory Freak" semi-lifted-from-the-factory-WK is possible. With so many spring and strut/shock combinations, I could see that every once in a great while, a WK got built speced from the Pick Order for a heavy drivetrain and such, and ends up lite in trim and engine/trans combos, resulting in the the small "factory lift."

Re: 2007 GC Overland 4x4 Ride Height

According to WKJeeps.com, ArvinMeritor is the supplier for the WK suspension. When I get time I am going to try to contact them reguarding the spring rates for each spring offered and on the valveing difference on the strut/shock options. Who knows, might get lucky and get some cool info.

thanks!

Re: 2007 GC Overland 4x4 Ride Height

Will do Two popular options for towing right now seem to be rear Bilsteins with the XK (Commander) rear springs from a Limited Hemi with tow package, or the rear Monroe Sens-Trac Load Levelers, which I have, and they work great so far.
