Got a great deal on the 18's with the bonus of having tons of life left on the OEM 265/60 rubber. These bolt up fine with no need to trim the bolt or do the pinch weld mod. Problem is that 5.52 MM offset difference on the new wheels. The inside of the tire is rubbing on the strut support. My question is.. how are guys running WK2 OEM 20's with the same offset and have no rubbing without spacers? See below thread
I'm curious about this too. I have just bought some 2012 18" and hoped fitment would be ok. Although I was planning on needing 1" spacers due to different offset. I will follow to see how this plays out for you..
spacers are needed with the 265/60/18 rubber..for those of you that say "duh" read the thread attached above...that makes me go "doh!" maybe 245 could have provided enough space to clear the strut support but that would just not look right. as noted above no need for a pinch weld mod just cut the bolt.
with 25mm Eibachs fitment is good. nice aggressive stance with a sliver of rubber outside the wheel wells. Will opt for 255/60's when the 265's need to be replaced and that should put them just at the edges.
Problem / concern now is lug nuts seating and integrity. Yes the og 17" lugs fit but really cause concern with performance/safety. The lugs that came with the 18's are are larger than the 17's (hex & thread 15/16 vs 13/16 on hex). The hex isnt the problem its the threading. references have both the WK & WK2'S listed at 1/2" but the WK2's are bigger and wont thread on the Eibach's. Maybe the seller of the 18's gave me the wrong lugs? Will post another thread looking for an answer.
Maybe replacing the bolts on the spacers will be the answer if at all possible..
Those 18s look awesome. Actually like the idea of those instead of a set of reps. Are they chrome or like the WK chrome rims with covers? Nice job, so a 1/4" spacer is all you need?
I like them. Very classy- I'd like to swap my 18" Sahara rims for these down the road. I'd be interested how they hold up a winter. I know the WJ chrome didn't fair too well and would flake and look like ass.
Also wondering if you have a shot from the rear to show if they sit flush with the fenders or not. I like the look, alot. Problem will be finding a set
thought of putting the chrome covers on those? ive seen them on ebay, was considering them since i like that rim and they are hard to find in the polished aluminum.
