2015 WK Tire/Wheel Questions

Ok so Usually they say in snow smaller the wheel (and thinner the width) is best, but I see plenty of Cherokees with bigger tires and wheel sizes, I owned a 93 GC and never went for bigger wheels.

On my 15' there is a very large wheel well, almost teasing me to go bigger. Is going to say 18s going to affect me that much? I also see people posting about reprogramming the computer? is there any other side jobs/problems that could come up from going up to 18? OEM 245/70/17

Re: 2015 WK Tire/Wheel Questions

Going to 18's means a lot of cash; ie. new wheels and much more expensive tires than 17's, overall diameter will be the same if you go the plus 1 route , so they do nothing to fill the wheel well versus stock, there is just more wheel diameter and less tire sidewall, and a bit rougher ride. IF you go to larger diameter 18's, it changes the final drive ratio and it will accellerate slower, but get a little better hwy mpg.

Re: 2015 WK Tire/Wheel Questions

There is not a tremendous amount of tired choices available in the 18 inch tire size. Stick with your 17s, but get a bigger tire.

2015 SRTs have 20 inch wheels OEM and some folks run 22's so I'm assuming no problem at all fitting 18's

You can put on any size wheel as long as the bolt pattern and offset is within range. If offset is not correct, do not use spacers, as this is a band aid approach that is unsafe; most shops will not touch it if it has spacers as they could be held liable when something bad happens.
