255/45 front, 295/40 rear on SRT8 wheels

Any problems with running this tire combo on SRT8 wheels:

255/45 front
295/40 rear

The sidewall heights are 114.75mm and 118.00mm, respectively. Will this difference in sidewall height cause any issues with the transmission or transfer case?

There are not alot of option for the stock 255/285 setup , and I am really interested in the toyo proxes STII and the continental extremecontact DWS.......both of which only come in a 295/40 rear width.

Thoughts???

I dont think that setup would work for me for a few reasons. I really want to keep one set of tires all year round to deal with NJ winters. Even if I got a good all season tire like the continental, I wouldnt trust a 315 rear in snow. Also, I dont like how the sidewall height of that setup is actually less than stock. Considering I dont plan to drop, I think it would look too skinny with too much fender gap showing.

Checked them out and heard they are a pretty good tire. But also heard they are not the best in the snow. And I have to admit, I am not a fan of the tread design.

You know I was thinking, I could do the Toyo Proxes II in a 265/45 and 295/40 setup. The sidewall height would be consistent that way. The only issue I see is that the 265/45 Toyo is not XL rated. Is that a must?

I had them last winter and we had the most snow weve had in quite awhile and I never had a problem. I would DEFINETELY get an XL rated tire. This is a 5k pound SUV.

why would you want to use srt wheels in the snow? keep your stock wheels for that. with the amount of salt the dots put on the roads up here it isnt worth it even with a good sealant

good point.

anyone know the difference between a 106Y service description versus a 106Y XL?? the 106 indicates the tire can support a load of 2094lbs per tire, which is plenty for a 5000 pound SUV. So what does the XL mean? I think it might have something to do with the load at a certain PSI.

this is another good point. honestly I didnt want to be bothered switching between summer and winter sets. I did that on my X5 for a while and it gets to be annoying, especially with storage.
