Add 1" Rear Coil Spacers?

Add a Rear Coil Spacer or Not?

This is going to be my last thread about this.

The rear wheel well is 1" lower than the front. However, the WK is leveled. What do you think? Add a 1" coil spacer to the rear or not?

Even if you don't post....please vote in the poll.

Thank you.

I was having the same dilemna and was debating a making a steel spacer to weld to the RC spacer. I ended up following the lead of a few XK guys on another forum and instead went with a set Monroe Load Leveling coil-over shocks that were about 3" longer then stock. End result was almost 1.5" gain in height.

Before the shocks I measured 21 1/2" front and 21" rear (center of hub to fender)
After I was at 22 3/8" rear.

If you plan to disco the rear sway to wheel you'll need limiting straps though since the shocks will no longer be the limiting factor.

Installing a rear spacer soon.

Is that a picture of you rake after you installed the new shocks or is that a before pic?

What? Explain the last sentence to me again.

By the way. I have the OME lift and was going to cut an RK rear poly spacer down to 1".

I'm 22.5 front and 21.5 rear.

If you go with the longer shocks and want to disconnect your rear sway bar you'll need limiting straps to keep you rear spring from unseating. Currently your shocks limit the travel of the rear axle. The longer shocks give you more travel. Right now my sway is the limit. If I disconnect it and fully flex the rear passenger side coil could unseat.(drivers side is limited by the fuel skid unless you have modded it) If you don't disco the sway it wont matter.

I also had an issue with the back sagging when loaded up, so these eliminated both problems. It handles the weight better and the stance has been improved.

I do not plan to disconnect the rear swaybar.

With me adding a 1" spacer in the rear, would I have to modify anything? It will then be at 22 1/2 in the rear just like the front.

The whole OME setup. Coils and shocks.

Thanks. I just purchased a set of rear RK coil spacer seconds ago. Thanks.

This sublect has been beaten like a dead horse over on JF. Yes you can do it, no you don't need to cut it down, just use the puck and loose the 1/4" plastic thing that sits on the top of your ome coil.

According to the ppl over there as long as you keep the center to fender lift under 23" you should not have CV trouble. I am not saying this, but I have read it. check out the threads and search for omelet's build

Lose or loose?

And what 1/4"'plastic thing are you talking about? Front or rear? Are you talking about the coil isolator?

I really have no experience but my own. So with that I can tell you that all the threads I have read on this, no one has used a bottom mount spacer. The ones I have seen, and plan doing myself, have the spacer between the coil and the jeep.

You will also need longer rear sway links. If you plan on going off road, you'll need an adjustable rear trac bar.

Yeah man. The RK lift has a bottom mount spacer. Just like the RRO lift.

Lifted_Up used the RRO rear spacer.
