I need new tires for my Wk with 20x9 SRT REPS with WK Eibachs and srt bilstein shocks. I want a long lasting tire the Yoko Parada spec x i have now are not lasting, I got 15k out and got rough ride noise wear. What will last long time ride somewhat smooth. I will not be tracking jeep just city driving and some hwy.

Thanks

Chris

Any other thoughts on other brands that would be good? I will be purchasing new wheels/tires for my 05 GC Limited in the next couple of weeks and would like to go with SRT8 replicas. I can't decide between 255/45/20 or 275/45/20 on all fours. I keep getting mixed reviews. Some say the 275s are too big for the front and others say I may need to grind a bolt or do a little trimming. I have even heard others say going too big may cause transfer case issues. I would really like to get your thoughts on any pros/cons to this setup. Any reason not to go as wide as 275? I live in Indiana and this combo will be both my summer and winter setup at least for the first couple of years. Any insight you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I have bridgestones 255/45/20R changed them at about 55000 kms and still had some tread left. My setup is SRT rims, SRT springs but stock struts. I will soon replace the struts with Bilsteins B6.

Its a lovely street drive with the 255s and i have no issues so far with moderate consumption.

I blv that with the 275's - apart from other problems that you may face - you will have higher consumption unless that does not bother you.

Hi,
I know this is an old thread but im looking to put srt wheels on my 08 GC. You mentioned that by going with a wider 275 tire that there will be more gas consumption. Did you experience that with your setup?

I have the SRT8 Reps ordered and on the way and now I am down to deciding on the tire size. This will be a matching set for year-round use in Indiana. I am trying to decide between 245/50/20, 255/50/20, and 265/50/20. I'm not worried about the 245/255's but I haven't found a direct answer on whether or not the 265's will fit without clearance issues at full travel. (I will not be trimming the bolt.) Is anyone on here running 265/50/20's on front of 2005-2010 GC with no issues? I have searched several threads but keep getting WK2 results.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I'm running 295/45-20 rear and 265/50-20 front, SRT reps 20x9 F 20x10 R, even though yes they are about 1 inch taller then the stockers (245/60-18), the fronts and rears are close enough compared to one other that I have had no problems, And (NO) you will not have to trim the shock bolt

The tires I went with are Toyo Proxes STII

Yes, you are correct in saying that you can not rotate any of the tires due to being wider in the rear then the front, and to top it off u can't even switch them to the other side because they are directional. But I only run this set up in the summer time so they dont get to many miles to were I need to switch or rotate them. As long as the front and rear tires are no more then 2% difference in height from each other you shouldnt cause any problems to your transfer case (I had the same concern). As far as the rear 20x10 sticking out to far, thats false, they are off set correctly from the manufacture just like the stock wheels that come on the SRT Grand cherokee, ( I believe the fronts are 38 and rear 50) dont quote me on the off sets, But there what ever came on the stock SRT's

With the 265/50 in the front you said you didn't have to cut the front shock bolt? I've been trying to find this out because that's the tire size I want to run all the way around just wanted to make sure there won't be any rubbing or problems with the bolt in the front

Bostonstronghemi,
Thanks for the complement on the stance, your not the first to ask me if I have done any mods to the suspension, answer is no, maybe my springs are just worn out lol

LimitEd1,
with stock springs and shocks/struts you will be fine going with the same size wheels and tire, these are the only tires I was able to find that had both sizes,
Federal---Couragia
Maxxis---MA-S2 Marauder II
Toyo---Proxes S/T @ ST II
Hankook---Ventus ST RH06
Yokohama---Parada Spec-X
Nexxen---Roadian HP

I have a 2007 with 265/45x20 all round on Srt alloys. In the UK they had 8x20 all round . Speedo is correct upto and above 70mph compared to satnav.
