I looked for koni but only found heavy track. Whatever that means

Yeah, if the road is smooth they are not bad, but there are no smooth roads where I live, and Bilsteins bounced mine around severely, also created a number of squeaks and rattles from harsh impacts on bumps, where the FSD absorbs those same bumps. The Koni FSD are not sold in the US. I had to special order them. They are over $1000, plus shipping costs, made in the Netherlands and sold for export model WK's. The heavy tracks are a different Koni shock altogether, manually adjustable like the Koni sport's, but not so smooth riding, more for off road beasts.

Re: Bilstein on back order **SIGH**

Yup, FSD's are 3x the cost of WK Bilsteins, but are sooooo much better handling, and with a smoother, much more controlled and flat ride. They are the best for non-lowered WK's. I would probably go with OEM if it were up to a budget; you can buy OEM from Mopar online discounters for much less than the dealers sell them for.

Re: Bilstein on back order **SIGH**

What is the best place to buy Koni FSDs? I'm replacing my Bilstein 4600HD (wk bilsteins) because the front is leaking and I'm not happy with the ride. I was going to do 5100s but I don't have time to wait for the back order that they are always on and I don't do much off-roading any more an find myself wanting better on road manners and cornering.

Edit never mind I'm not spending $1000 on shocks and struts.

I'll try the 5100s of they are in stock. I'm not going back to oem or Monroe junk. Id rather wait for the back order.

What else do you guys recommend for tight handling good road manners? SRT bilstein a are recommended by Scott but are hard to find ad expensive.

Re: Bilstein on back order **SIGH**

My 5100's arrive tomorrow, and yes I had to wait for them too.
I had them on a Dodge Ram 1500 in the past and the improvement they made to the handling of that truck was remarkable. If I get half the improvement to the Jeep that I did with the pick up I'll be thrilled.

Can't wait.

I have the 5100's set at 3/4 in front and 5100's in rear. Front/rear srt swaybars and Bwoody end links. Extremely pleased with the way in handles. Smooth or bumpy roads no problem. Ran for a year before I put Bwoody end links and much improved over stock links.

I'll look into those additions for the second phase of the upgrade, thanks for the input!

I too was thinking the 3/4 setting would be the way to go. Does it change the look of the stance very much? I wouldn't mind a bit of levelling to bring the nose up a touch.

Thanks.

Nice job, I think that looks really good.
Thanks for the input, I'll try to post an update once I have mine in and offer my own thoughts.

Re: Bilstein on back order **SIGH**

My 5100's deliver today. I can't wait to see what they do to the stance. I don't mind a harsher ride, the Monroe LL added some stiffness to the back and some lift too. I got mine from carid, they shipped the day after I ordered them and $105 each.
