Question Re: Bilsteins!!! Got 'em, one question though.....

I did some quick research on shocks for my Jeep and thought I was going to pull the trigger on the non-srt Bilsteins, but after reading a couple of threads here I don't like what I'm hearing about them:

Also, in the sticky Scott says that the Bilsteins will increase ride height by 3/8"

There are a lot of potholes on my way to work, I don't want really stiff shocks that will make things rattle around more than they already do.

I don't want to increase my ride height at all, so am I stuck with either KYB or Monroe factory-like twin-tube design? Are the KYB shocks worth the premium over the Monroe's?

My bilsteins deff softened up but do not ride nearly as 'smooth' as my stock shocks did. And there are many potholes where i drive and the stiffer shocks are no fun.

I love the WK Bilsteins! IMO, that's the way a sport truck/SUV should ride.

Wow!! OME Rocks!

I fitted the OME MD kit. Jeep now sits 3ins higher, it also now sits level (no nose down attitude).

So much quieter, smoother, tighter & able to hit corners at speed, without the "wallow" and wobble of before. Can now hit speed bumps at speed, it just eats them up.

Highly recommend.

Haha, tricky one. Doing the lift & new tyres will certainly not cost as much as WK2, but your MPG, comfort & speed would improve.

Would you take the WK2 off road and not worry about scratching it etc though? I'd do the lift, enjoy the cost saving & know it's all your own work (sort of).

Get the WK2 next year when they're a bit cheaper & had all the "problems" sorted
