Re: Clunk when braking

Changed everything out and the clunk remains so I'm now wondering if it's in the rack? I checked it by rapidly turning the steering wheel back and forth with the front wheels off the ground and it produced no noise, also tried it with the wheels and the ground and also produced no noises so I'm lost now. There doesn't really seem to be anything to keep the lower control arm from moving once it's bolted in so I'm wondering if mine is just missing something.

Problem solved. After checking bolts everywhere there was a loose bolt on the passenger lower control arm.

That side also needs the LCA replaced as the bushings look pretty bad and there is play in the ball joints.

Re: Clunk when braking

Second the calipers. I did my brakes and after 2 weeks one of the bolts had come loose allowing some play in the caliper. My mechanic found it for me and said had I waited any longer, there's a good chance the bolt would have come out, the caliper would have flipped up, locked up the wheel and caused a catastrophic crash.
