Experience with new SRT Reps

Recently I installed new SRT wheels from OEWheels on my 2005 GC Hemi. Overall I am really happy with the upgrade, but did have some issues. Below is a break down of what I ordered:
P/N Description Vendor Quantity Cost Total
8538720 SRT Chrome 20x9 SET OEWheels 1 760 760
974001 Dorman TPMS Amazon 4 23.63 94.52
STZ-05 Falken Tires 265-50-20 Discount 1 588.11 588.11
71983HT Gorilla Lug Nuts Amazon 1 24.46 24.46
Total: 1467.09

I ordered the wheels from OEWheels online since I had hard time talking to them on the phone. The wheels arrived packaged really nice and the outside finish was flawless. However the finish on the inside of the wheels was full of pits and non-uniform finish. This usually indicate process issues with the casting process and repaired castings. I took the risk and decided to have them installed.

I ordered the TPMS sensors from Amazon and installed them myself. They programmed themself, and I never had an issue with them. Verified the tire pressure with my OTC scan tool.

At $118 a piece, the Falkens were the cheapest tires I could find with a decent reputation. For comparison, I paid over $200 a piece for the 20" Paradas on my wife's nissan Murano. Discount Tire was awesome during the install.

Per OEWheels I had the wheels checked before install. One of the wheels had numerous out of round areas on the inside of the wheel. I called OEWheels and they told me not to install the wheel. I gave the person at OEWheels the business and he agreed to ship a replacement wheel in 5-7 days. The Manager from Discount tire verified the wheel was most likely repaired on the inside, but round on the outside. I had the tire installed on this wheel and the truck rides smooth 80+mph. OEWheels did send a replacement wheel, which I sent back. It was flawless inside and out.

Some other things to note is that 265-50-20 is a great size tire for these jeeps. I verified no clearance or rubbing issues on the front and back. It just clears the upper ball joint bolt by 3/8". The Falkens look and ride great. My GC looks and handles much better, with just a little firmer ride. Did loose a little bit on gas mileage.

As far as OEWheels they deliver what they offer. Good looking wheels at a discount price. I typically do not purchase discounted overseas parts for my vehicles, but with respect to aftermarket wheels, you have no other choice.

Re: Experience with new SRT Reps

I ran Falkens (STZ01) on a previous vehicle ('01 F150 Supercrew) and loved them - averaged around 40K miles from each set which is pretty good for a performance tire. I'll have to check out the STZ05 - must be a fairly new model bc when I was running them they only had the 01's and 04's.
