ok guys,i have a 05 grand Cherokee.5.7 hemi, when I cant miss and hit a pothole the front end BANGS, like its bottoming out. I Have had new front quick struts put on a couple years ago. This year it was all sway bar links and bushing and rear shocks, cause I could. My guys in the shop say everything is good, arms, bushing, balljoints. I hit a man hole yesterday and gave myself a headache. Please any ideas will be appreciated.
If it is lifted it might be topping out, meaning the strut is hitting the back side of the aluminum knuckle when you run out of down travel? You'll see the knuckle marked up if that's the case. Front diff bushings often go bad and make clunking noises. I also noticed on mine recently after I removed and re-installed the front LCAs that the bolts are not tight enough and allow the LCA to slide inward if I take a hard turn. Just some things to check, hope it helps.
