Re: Front strut mount replacement

Yes, it will fit, but do not put the front srt bar on with a stock rear sway bar, that is a very dangerous oversteer combination, ie. When the rear end swings around going around a fast sweeper..

I agree. Though some members have replaced the front and rear sway bars individually with reported success, it's certainly not a recommended method - especially from a safety concern. If you're going to do the sways, convert BOTH to SRT8 simultaneously.

Additionally, the upgraded brackets and bushings that I referred to in my earlier post have nothing to do with the SRT8 sways. The newly designed brackets and bushings were just modified by Jeep to fix the bumping issue that the 05-06 experience. I believe they started including them with the 07's and 08's from the factory. These updated brackets/bushings WILL NOT FIT THE SRT8 BAR.

Question Re: Front strut mount replacement

I got the stock sway bar on the front but got addco rear bar. With my clunking noise I was thinking replacing with srt front bar with the new brackets and bushings and new moog links. How hard is it to replace with all the parts with a srt front bumper, can I install them with the jeep on rhino ramps or does the jeep need to be on the ground.

The sway bar and brackets are best removed when the wheels are on the ground. It shouldn't make a difference what bumper you have or if the WK is on Rhino ramps as long as the tires are still under the weight of the Jeep. I've never had to change my end links, but from what I understand, one side is connected to the sway bar, and the other side of the link is connected to the LCA.

Also make sure that you get the brackets and bushings specific to the SRT8 bar if you're going that route. I think the part numbers are listed in the Full Suspension Sticky Thread.

Beware however, many people talk about somehow stripping that LCA bolt/thread hole. Not sure how, but apparently it happens.

I had to disconnect the lower end of the end link to drop the LCA so I could get clearance to do my strut upgrades, but my bolts didn't give me any trouble. In either case, it's nothing a bit of Kroil couldn't remedy.

Question Re: Front strut mount replacement

I need to found out what size bar I got on my 05 limited I like to get the new bracket and rubber design to go with my moog sway links I ordered. I read the new stuff fits a 33mm bar and not 30mm bar. In 05 jeep made two size sway bars 30 and 33 bar.

Or your stealer (dealer) by phone or visit and your VIN should be able to tell you which parts you require (since the old parts were deprecated) .
