HELP: Addco Sway Bar not fitting

So the shop just called to tell me the Addco sway bar I bought off of here isn't even close to fitting in the rear. I've read that the fit can be tight sometimes but the mechanic basically said it's not every close. Can anyone help? I have a 2006 WK

Re: HELP: Addco Sway Bar not fitting

What's the part number on the bar? See if that matches the bar spec'd for your Jeep. Maybe you have a front bar trying to go on the rear. Not much else you can do. Maybe your mechanic is just incompetent. Good luck!

It looks like the part number for the rear bar is 2321 (2320 for the front). That's from the Addco site. Also, maybe they're trying to put it on upside down? I don't know if that matters or not. Just a thought.

Re: HELP: Addco Sway Bar not fitting

Are the mounting brackets the problem? I dont think i have them, just the brushings. I know just for jeep says you need them...whoops

The mechanic says that the curve in the bar isn't nearly big enough to bend around it. Maybe the brackets for the SRT8 Bar push the addco one far enough away?

Re: HELP: Addco Sway Bar not fitting

heres some pics i copied from my install. does your look the same? I only needed to open up the bolt holes a little

much beefier

I've heard people say the included bushings/brackets were no good to use, mine were ok,however i did have to open up the bolt holes. I used a diegrinder to make them fit, only took a few min.

also the holes in the sway were a bit tight for the stock end links

Re: HELP: Addco Sway Bar not fitting

Thanks man, it sounds like from what the mechanic is telling me, the actual curve is not 'curvy enough' and it just bumps into something and just isn't clearing. Doesn't sound like he's having a problem with the holes on the link - they line up alright. We're still stuck

Re: HELP: Addco Sway Bar not fitting

Thanks Rob, completely agree, yeah I can't figure it out, I've only seen problems with the fit like whoa's saying - not the "curve" in it and most of the real issues are with the front.

Spoke to the guy who i bought it from here and He's saying it might be the differential size since he has a 5.7 and mines 3.7. I'm going to double check the part number when I get it back tonight.

Thanks for the help guys

Re: HELP: Addco Sway Bar not fitting

yeah I hear what you're all saying...so I think I found the problem - option one...the guy on here sold me the wrong part. Check out these pictures...closest I can tell is that this is a charger SRT8 addco bar based on the pictures. When I pick it up tonight I'll see what the part # says on there.

Re: HELP: Addco Sway Bar not fitting

the bottom pic shows the addco on the bottom with the stock 2006 rear sway above it. The mechanic was trying to show me the difference in curvature.

Re: HELP: Addco Sway Bar not fitting

So based on Robpp's comment does the fact that it's a 5.7 doesn't matter right? The fit should be standard across all WK's it sounds like right?
