HELP with lift

ok so i see a few threads about this already buy no clear answers ... today i attempted to install a rough country 2 inch spacer lift ... well 8 hours later and its all back together just with no lift in it .... that lower control arm clevis bolt will not come out, loaded with pb blaster 7 million shots with the 4lb sledge impact gun to try and free it up ... i finally got it to spin with the impact gun and slide about 1/2 of an inch back and forth but it would not move any further ... any advise would be greatly appreciated as i want to get this lift installed asap

Re: HELP with lift

removing the lower clevis bolt is not a "Must" so long as you can get the upper pinch bolt out, you can remove the strut from the pinch bolt and leave the lower part in

I had the same problem when I did my lift. I couldn't get the lower control arm bolt out without taking the bushing with it. I ended up standing a 2x4 on a floor jack and wedging it under the coil. Then I jacked it up until the coil compressed enough to pull the strut out. Took a few tries and a floor jack getting shot at my knee not to mention the difficulty of putting an even longer strut back in but I got the job done.

Re: HELP with lift

When i did my rc lift i was able to get the clevis bolt out on the drivers side. But on the passenger side no joy.

I rented spring compressors and needed them on both sides. On the passenger side i removed the upper control arm and the strut could rotate out of the fenderwell enough to bolt the spacer on top.

I did not replace my struts. 75k miles. I probably should have though. I will be paying a shop to do the struts when they go.
