I have the highway suspension or something I guess. No badge on this Jeep. Billiard-smooth surfaces only! NO hard cornering allowed.

My shocks look dented. See the picture
I'll spam it some so people can see.

The good news is, the "no fat chics" sticker on the 'vette and 370Z, can honestly and probably more appropriately reside on my Jeep, LOL!

Re: How do I get more suspension travel?

I'm going by the dealership to see if somehow they installed my new shocks wrong, but if not, this thing is gone. Total joke that it can't even corner while braking without tearing itself up. Then I can endure the "I told you so's" from all my friends

Yes, I grabbed and man-handled on that, too. Everything looks good and is solid.

It always felt funny on tight turns, but I didn't crawl around looking under there, so I cannot attest to the state of the OEM shocks. All of the bolts are in the holes and tight...

Re: How do I get more suspension travel?

Well, jeep says it's totally normal. Said that tab it's bending and peening is a safety measure by Bilstein or some such. So...lesson to the wise. Your GJC is one mall crawling machine unless you have a real one with the trail rated package.

Re: How do I get more suspension travel?

thats ridiculous...

how many miles on this? there is NO WAY that your shaft should be dinging up the bottom of your shock- its connected to the lower control arm that goes up and down with your cv axle.. is there any way you can get a pic of the whole suspension on that side? your shocks should never take a beating and as far as bottoming out youd hit your bumpstops and not your cv axle shaft on the bottom of the shock body.

No Jeep is not understanding your problem there is no way it should be hitting the shock like that when just going over a speed bump. I understand your frustrated but you can't make a judgement on an entire model based on your broken one.

Take it to someone else not the dealership that installed the shocks, get an outside opinion. What you are describing is not normal from speed bumps and turns. Take the tech for a ride along so you can show him the problem. Also measure the hub to fender length.
