Thats true but keep in mind I payed 5x (seriously 5 times) more for the BMW than the jeep. I purchased it brand new and it far far less miles than the Jeep and it has been in the service dept. its fair share of times.

Fair enough. I'm just seriously frustrated that this Jeep of mine has been the worst domestic I have owned thus far.

Anyway, I think I'm going to replace it with an FJ Cruiser if the dealership cannot fix it. Seriously. THEY CANNOT FIX IT. Imagine? They can't take my money. HAH! It's done for, if a dealer can't find a way to upsell you on a repair WHILE acknowledging that it's BROKE.

Re: How do I get more suspension travel?

Well. Finally they found the issue. Rotten suspension. Almost $2K to fix. No clue why it randomly died on me the other night, though. I've already dumped plenty into maintenance, and they urged me to keep the Jeep and do this, as "I've already hit my expensive stuff", but I wonder if that's not so they can get the $1750 + further repairs out of me to fix the rotten control arm bushings...

Bushings look trashed. Dry rotted and bulging. But only the two at the rear most points of th3 control arm.

Or, a dealer you want to go to again.
If you want to try solving the issue, try a real SUV suspension place.
Even the high school kids at 4 Wheel Parts would know better than your dealer seems to.

I personally wouldn't put Bilsteins on a Jeep over something like a Rancho, Edelbrock IAS, but something is wrong there with that shock.

Wonder if it is as simple as some bozo putting on the wrong model...

Re: How do I get more suspension travel?

Do yourself a favor and unless you are hard core, stay away from the off road urethane ones. First they squeak a lot unless you lube the heck out of them... And they can really stiffen up the ride.

I'd still suggest letting a 4x4 specialty shop take a look and give you a detailed quote.

What kind of place is that? I'll do some Googling around my area but is there a chain? I was going to just put mopar on it.
