How many miles you get on a set of brakes?

I am currently at 73+ k miles on ORIGINAL pads.

Just wanted to see how many miles everyone else has been getting on first set of pads.

Re: How many miles you get on a set of brakes?

I've got about 90K on the rears, and the fronts were replaced at about 50K, not due to wear, but heat checks....pulsing pedal.

I went about 60k on my stock pads before swapping to ceramics and slotted rotors from r1

Check the pad thickness and the rotors for "feelable" grooves...

Some folks can't make brakes last 25K miles, others can go near 100K, all depends on how much you use them.

Mine had the originals on it at 68k when I bought it. They still had plenty of pad left, but the rotors were warped as with all WKs. I immediately switched them to Wagner ceramics and EBC Sport drilled/slotted rotors and haven't looked back since. I guess that puts me at about 50k on these newer pads and they still feel like new and are plenty thick.

Also, those semi-metallic OEM pads are a PITA and are noisy/dirty. Just swap them for ceramics and be done with it.

Re: How many miles you get on a set of brakes?

I got 165k on my fronts and 79k on my rears. ( old 06 3.7L) The pads were so old in the front they were heat damaged and were cracking apart when I took them out.

I have 53k on my fronts and rears so far. Almost full pad too.

Re: How many miles you get on a set of brakes?

Just had my rotors turned at 98K miles and they said the original pads still looked good, front and rear.
