JBA UCA's

I purchased the OME HD lift kit and i came acrossed these jba uca's.. is this something that is highly recommended purchasing and installing with the lift? would you also recommend the jba uca's over rro's uca's? also! is it somewhat point less for a daily driver to install the jba quick disco's? thanks guys!

Re: JBA UCA's

it would be recommended but not necessary, at least until you wear your stock uca's out. jba's are more than likely better quality but the price on the rro's might make it worth a shot. you could get the discos to use as longer links (with the ability to disco if ever needed to) or you can just get longer links from bwoody.

Re: JBA UCA's

I'm in the same boat as you. Looking to get the OME HD lift and trying to figure out what other suspension components would be recommended, even if not necessary. So far I'm looking at getting these extra components:

* $339 - Control Arms - http://www.rocky-road.com/wk-grand-c...ntrol-arm.html

* $130 - Adjustable HD Track Bar - http://www.rustysoffroad.com/jeep-su...le-track-bars/

I've heard different opinions on Rusty's vs JBA vs RR. Haven't made a final decision yet, but I'm thinking I want at least the HD Track Bar, UCA, and now the longer Quick Disconnects. Also replacing the front diff bushings at the same time. Are there aftermarket bushing kits available?

What else should be thrown on that list?

Re: JBA UCA's

I've read that the RRO UCAs use KJ CRD ball joints so probably won't hold up as well as the JBA UCAs if you do a lot of offroading. I heard you might wanna wait for an improved design on the RROs or just buy the JBAs.

Re: JBA UCA's

I think i decided on saving the extra coin and just going with the JBA UCA and quick disconnects.. but HD track bar.. is this gonna be needed with the HD lift? Im not sure about the front diff bushings.. i got the V6 with all time 4x4

Re: JBA UCA's

So the RRO have 1.25 DOM tubing and the JBA uses .25 DOM tubing. Which is stronger?

Looks like the JBA also has a Sensor that attaches to the UCA for Jeeps equipped with it (Overland). Guess that's what I'll be going with.

I've heard the Rear Track Bar is recommended to keep the rear Axle aligned properly for WK's with lift's over 2". The OME HD supposedly comes out to 2.5" - 3" of total lift.

Here's my suspension shopping cart so far:

* Replace Differential Bushings

* $760 - OME HD lift - http://www.rocky-road.com/wkome.html
* $339 - Control Arms - http://www.rocky-road.com/wk-grand-c...ntrol-arm.html
or
* $480 - Control Arms w/Sensor Bracket - http://jeepinbyal.com/prod-Als_Upper...rokee-717.aspx
* 1.25 vs .25 dom tubing on UCA's?
* $130 - Adjustable HD Track Bar - http://www.rustysoffroad.com/jeep-su...le-track-bars/
* Alignment (After lift/Tire Install)

Need to research:
* front / rear anti-sway bar links
* Steering knuckles (Provided int he 4" Superlift Kit)
* OEM coil spring isolators
* strut plates
* differential drop brackets
* rear upper adjustable control arms

Re: JBA UCA's

i have ome hd on my 3.7l wk and love it. the lighter weight up front lets it sit higher, so i stacked the rear springs with my old daystar 1.5" poly spacer. I also have rusty's offroad extended rear sway links, jks front disco's, adjustable rear tracbar. my front seems to be stressing pretty good on the uca's so i am def planning to get some jba or rr uca's very soon.

Re: JBA UCA's

um haha i think i made it more confusing with my last post...up front is ome hd (struts, springs) only...in the back is ome hd (shocks, springs) WITH my old daystar spacers on top.

you could use any rear poly spacer but since i already had my daystar i just went with that, some of the other people who have done this used other spacers and had to trim them down a little so i would suggest daystar or you could do what others do and use monroe load leveler shocks with ome springs and no spacer to achieve roughly the same results. hope that makes more sense.

it's stiff but to me rides more like a jeep now and offroad it's great. the md would prob be better but i don't mind it enough to ever want to switch. to be honest the thing that bugs me most is everything inside my jeep rattles a lot more, lol.
